Celtic’s out of contract midfielder Paul Hartley is in demand.

He has become a free agent as his contract expires at the end of June and the 32 year old is said to be in talks with a number of clubs with regards to a move. Championship rivals Newcastle and Sheffield United have been linked with Hartley before.

The Scottish international joined the Hoops back in 2007 from Hearts and was instrumental in their title success in 2008 alongside Barry Robson, a former Blues target, in the centre of midfield.

If these reports are to be believed then Ipswich would have to beat off the competition – Greek side Iraklis Salonika. Hartley has already flown to Greece to hold talks with Salonika but is yet to confirm where his future lies.

But do we really need ANOTHER centre midfielder?!
