David McGoldrick dedicated his second goal against Brighton to Terry Connor after extra work on the training ground paid off.

And the striker heaped praise on Town coach Terry Connor, who scored 50 goals for the Seagulls in his heyday. He told the Daily Star: TC puts so much thought into that extra hour`s training with the strikers and it paid off.

“That second goal is straight off the training field. He is also a great guy, someone who has a voice you listen too. So that second goal is dedicated to TC.”

His nine Ipswich goals – including four while on loan from Nottingham Forest last season – have come at Portman Road but that doesn’t bother him.

“If I score 20 goals at home and none away I don`t care,” said the free signing from Forest.

“People go on about a 20-goal striker but I will take it. I don`t care if I don`t score away. If I still get a big total, then happy days.

“It is all green grass so I don`t care if it is home or away”
