David McGoldrick buried Brighton with a double blast to make it five home wins out of six for the Blues.

Town got away with a bit of luck early on when Andrew Crofts missed a sitter for Albion and Brighton were made to pay.

McGoldrick fired the Tractor Boys into a 20th minute lead with a 25 yard shot, which deflected off Keith Andrews and looped over Tomasz Kuszczak.

Then, in a move straight from the training ground, the Town striker grabbed his second four minutes later when he showed great skill to carve out and opening and finish from 20 yards.

But he squandered the chance of a hat-trick when he poked over from a Daryl Murphy through ball.

Town are brilliant at home, and McGoaldrick is a goal machine at Portman Road, which is jumping at last.
