Or is it? Scott Loach might have recently been informed by Mick McCarthy that he was going to be released in the summer at the end of his contract but he isn’t completely ruling out staying with Ipswich.

The ‘keeper, who joined the club in 2012 from Watford, fulfilled a dream by playing for the club he supported as a child and watched from the stands growing up.

Loach would still be keen on staying with Ipswich but isn’t that hopeful but has thanked everyone at the club with what is likely to be a final farewell of the former England U21 international.

He told the official website: ‘Although the gaffer has said I can move on, nothing is set in stone just yet. I won’t write off playing for Ipswich again just yet because you never know what happens in football, but it looks as if my time here is coming to an end.

‘I just want to say thank you to everyone at the Club, the gaffer, the players and all the fans who have been absolutely superb with me.

‘I’ve had a brilliant time at Ipswich Town. I remember sitting in the stands as a kid dreaming of playing for the Club and I`ve been fortunate to have fulfilled that dream.’

He went on to say that he had ‘lived a dream’ by playing for the club with it ‘an honour’ to have done so, quite how successful this was he was leaving up to others to decide but feels the club are ‘heading in the right direction.’

Loach isn’t going to be at Portman Road next season, is he?
