The injury that kept striker Pablo Counago out of Tuesday’s defeat to Finn Harps in Ipswich’s pre-season opener is not serious.

The Spaniard has now teamed up with the rest of his teammates on their warm weather training camp in Portugal that takes place over this weekend and into early next week.

Pablo had suffered a groin injury in training prior to the Harps match on Tuesday night and that (along with an injury to Kevin Lisbie) vacated a space in the Blues squad, filled by Connor Wickham, who scored Town’s goal in the 2-1 defeat.

Ipswich’s next pre-season game is versus Brentford at Griffin Park next Wednesday night.
