Ipswich Town have announced the official squad numbers for the 2011/12 Championship season, with five of the club’s summer arrivals amongst the first 11.
No number one has been named with David Stockdale handed No. 13 whilst Marton Fulop retains No. 21, but Aaron Cresswell (No. 3), Ivar Ingimarsson (No. 4), Lee Bowyer (No. 8), Jay Emmanuel-Thomas (No. 9) and Michael Chopra (No. 10) are all included in the top 11.
Meanwhile Nathan Ellington was given the No. 18 shirt whilst former first 11 members Jason Scotland and Shane O’Connor drop to No. 14 and No. 23 respectively. Josh Carson, formerly No. 42, has been given No. 22 as he looks to continue his rise into regular first team action.
The announcement follows this morning’s open training session at Portman Road, where over 2000 Town fans turned up to see Paul Jewell and his new squad. The Blues will be in match action at Portman Road on Saturday afternoon against Wolverhampton Wanderers in their final match of the pre-season campaign, with their first home game of the league season coming against Hull City on 13 August.
