THE buzz around Town is Ipswich are keen on a new Keane.
In this case it is 18-year-old Manchester United striker William Keane who Sir Alex Ferguson has indicated could do with a loan spell with a Championship club.
If Peterborough don`t get in first then Paul Jewell could well make a move for youngster to add some zip to the Blues` old guard.
Jewell denied the initial round of rumours but then as we well know managers often do that so as not to alert the opposition.
There is nothing concrete in the latest speculation but you may like to know a little about Town`s possible (short term) acquisition.
William is the twin to United`s young defender Michael who were born to a Stockport mother and Dubliner father, meaning they are eligible to play for either England or the Republic of Ireland.
While Michael has followed the Roy Keane route and represented the Irish at all sorts of levels, William, Town`s target, has stayed on the England road up to under-18 level so far.
William has been compared with Ole Gunnar Solsjaer, in as much as he is deadly in the box, rather than as a supersub or indeed Norwegian league title winning manager.
Young Wills is adept at playing the deeper striker role, ideal if Town play an experienced striker up front and a more energetic forward playing off him, and is also decent playing wide in a 4-3-3 role.
Early days but one to watch.
