Former Manchester City winger Alex Henshall has signed a permanent two year deal with Ipswich Town today.

The 20 year old spent the last six weeks of the season on loan with us, and although he is yet to make his debut for the club, he was named on the bench a number of times and clearly manager Mick McCarthy was impressed with him during training.

Having joined the current Premier League Champions back in 2016 as a 16 year old, he actually began his Academy life as a junior at Swindon Town, and he was a regular for City in their Academy and U21 sides.

He has had previous loan experience with Chesterfield and Bristol Rovers and has also represented England at U16 and U17 levels.

At Rovers he made one starting appearance, with another from the bench and scored once. In his time with Chesterfield he started once, and made a further six appearances from the bench, and so far, that is the extent of his Football League experience.

He joins us as a free agent following his release this summer.
