No Brainer For Henshall

New signing Alex Henshall has said moving to Ipswich was a no brainer as he put pen to paper on a two year deal with us today.

Having spent six weeks on loan with us last season, not making his debut, Henshall said he was pleased that he’d been able to impress manager Mick McCarthy, and following his release by Manchester City, returning to us seemed the most sensible option.

Speaking to the Official Site having signed the deal, which also includes an option for a third year, he said.

‘I spoke to the gaffer a lot when I was here on loan and when he told me he wanted to keep me here, I was obviously delighted. Ipswich was always at the top of my list when I knew I would be moving on and it was an easy decision for me to make. I spoke to my family and my agent but it was a no brainer really.’

Henshall says that fitting in next season will be easy because he obviously already knows the lads from when he was on loan and he knows it’s a good, welcoming group and as he already knows what McCarthy wants from him, he can hit the ground running, get up to speed and look to impress enough to gain his debut for the club as quickly as he can now.

‘The gaffer has given me an opportunity and now it’s down to me to take it.’
