Manager Mick McCarthy has said that he believes Conor Sammon will be a good fit for the side, but Frank Nouble can move on.

Speaking to the Official Site the gaffer explained that he felt the way we play would be a perfect fit for loanee Sammon.

The Republic of Ireland international recently joined us from Derby County on a season long loan spell and made his debut in our defeat against Reading.

‘He’s a good player, he’s a good person as well and that fits with what we have here and we are delighted to have him at the club. He is someone I have been aware of for a while and I think Paul Jewell was interested in bringing him to the club so it’s great he’s finally here. I think the way we play will suit him and he will score goals for us.’

With news that Jack Marriott is heading out on loan for a spell at Carlisle United, Mick also confirmed that striker Frank Nouble is available for either a permanent move or a loan spell away from the club.

‘I’ve spoken to Frank and he’s available for transfer or to go out on loan. We’ve got four strikers now. He’s seen other players come in and he’s not daft. He wants to play games, he wants to play in someone’s first team, not sit on the bench.’

McCarthy goes on to say that in his time with us, Nouble has worked very hard indeed for the club and he’s hoping he can get himself fixed up quickly so he can get the game time he wants.

As for Marriott, he’s heading to Carlisle for a month initially and then it will be reassessed, but he’s confident he’ll score goals for them and it’s well timed with the Championship break coming up.
