Club skipper Luke Chambers has said that he can’t wait to lead the lads out for the first real action of the season when we kick off the campaign against Fulham on Saturday.
Speaking to the Official Site he explained that he believed our togetherness would be key to having a successful year this time round and hopefully going those extra points better than last season as we looked for a promotion shot.
‘There’s a lot of excitement in the camp to get started, certainly. The boys have had a great pre season and we’re looking fit, we’re looking strong and we’re looking forward to the ‘proper’ games now.’
Chambers goes on to say that there’s nothing quite like turning out in front of a full stadium, where 90 minutes will dictate where the points will go, and having done our pre season warm ups now, everyone is ‘raring’ to go.
‘Ipswich is such a massive club with a superb fan base and I’ve said it before but the first day I arrived here, the fans have been brilliant, so it really does mean a lot to be captain and it feels as if we are all in this together. Hopefully we can make it a successful season.’
