New Signing Out For Several Weeks

Hardly the start to life as an Ipswich player that Cameron Stewart would have wanted is it, but unfortunately the summer signing will miss the start of the 2014/15 season.

Stewart fractured his jaw in the friendly with Leyton Orient on Saturday and this is likely to see him sidelined for four-six-weeks.

Club physio Matt Byard told the official website: ‘Cameron was caught by an arm late on in the game on Saturday and the scan has shown that he has fractured his jaw.

‘He will have surgery in the morning and we will see where we stand from there but for that type of injury, you are looking at between four to six weeks on the sidelines.’

This type of injury just can’t be helped, it’s ‘one of those things’ but the wingers absence is a blow for us and Mick McCarthy could also be without Paul Anderson, Tommy Smith and Jonathan Par for the season opener against Fulham.
