The opening Ipswich pre-season friendly started with victory, thanks to a 4-0 win at Tolka Park against Shelbourne on Saturday.
Mick McCarthy took the opportunity to give all his players a run out with a blend of youth and experience on display on the afternoon, with the boss electing to make 11 changes at the break with Ipswich already two-nil up at that point.
First half goals from Paul Anderson and Darren McQueen were added to by second half strikes from Tyrone Mings and Jack Marriott.
First-half XI: Gerken, Parr, Chambers, Smith, Wyatt, Anderson, Hyam, Wordsworth, Henshall, McQueen, Taylor.
Second-half XI: Crowe, Hewitt, Clarke, Berra, Mings, Lawrence (Bishop 77), Skuse, Tabb, Stewart, Nouble, Marriott.
A good run out for the squad and a result to boot so all in all a good afternoons work at Tolka Park wasn’t t?
