Ipswich have finally secured the signature of Richard Wright from West Ham on a two-year deal.

The deal was confirmed on the official site this afternoon and sees Wright back at Portman Road since he left for Arsenal in 2001. Since then, his career has been plagued by injury and had spells at Everton and last season, West Ham.

He becomes the Blues fourth signing this summer, joining Pim Balkestein, Gareth McAuley and Kevin Lisbie at the club. Wright will join up his new team today and will train with new goalkeeping coach and ex-teammate James Hollman. He could even feature in the next pre-season game at Gillingham.

The fee paid to West Ham is officially undisclosed, but is thought to be around £500,000 and signs a two-year contract with the option of a third.
