Manager Mick McCarthy has today confirmed that midfielder Anthony Wordsworth is also available for a loan deal or a permanent move away from Portman Road.

The former Colchester man came on in the second half during our opening day win over Fulham and started the Capital One Cup defeat against Crawley but stayed on the bench in the Reading game and didn’t make the match day squad for Birmingham.

Speaking to the Official Site the gaffer explained.

‘I have spoken to Woody and he’s available now to go out on loan or to join a club permanently. He needs to be out there playing games.’

With another potential departure, there may be a potential arrival as well.

With Jack Collison training with us at the moment, he’s been joined by Darren Ambrose and McCarthy said.

‘It’s not a trial or anything like that. It’s just like Jack Collison who is also with us. Darren asked if he can train with us, we’re happy to let him do that but it’s no more than that.’

That won’t stop the speculation though.
