Ritchie Wellens has accused some of his temporary teammates of not caring, lacking passion and being spineless.

The on loan Leicester midfielder was livid after the 3-0 loss to Sheffield Wednesday and laid into Town players
He was quoted in a number of national papers as saying: “Defensively we were a bit of a shambles. We did not compete with their physicality and they won every headed ball in both boxes.

“When you go a goal down after 40-odd seconds in the situation we are in.
“We showed some character and came back for a while after going a goal down and were the better team.

“Second half was terrible. It is difficult to put a finger on why but we need to sort it out. We need to get a new manager in now and get everyone in shape. We need people to show they care and show some passion.

“It is difficult when you are getting the ball and no-one else wants the ball. It is human nature when you are under pressure to go and hide but we need to show we are men and a better attitude.”

Like mant Ipswich fans Wellens, 32, believes Town lack the bottle for a fight and added: “I can`t see Ipswich ever winning a game unless they are at their best and everything is going for them.
“To be a strong club in the Championship you have to win when things are not going well.
“I can fully understand why the club has been done by five and six goals this season.”

Strong stuff but he is right.
