Whoever takes over at Portman Road needs to change the cosy culture which has engulfed the club.

It was clear that certain players, JET, Chopra, Lee Martin, Luke Chambers, Daryl Murphy and Carlos Edwards for example, have been short-changing Ipswich and on-loan midfielder Ritchie Wellens believes some tough love is needed.

Wellens told some national papers: “A new manager needs to come in and put a rocket under the arses because there are not enough people who show they care about losing a game of football or even their own careers.

“One of the coaches said that the old manager got stick for bringing in loan payers but it is the loan players who are showing they care and that is a sad indication of what is wrong, if that is the case.”

Wellens believes Town players have it too cushy at Portman Road and said: “For me, looking on the outside before I came here I have always thought of Ipswich as a nice club and that was confirmed when I got here.
“It is a little too easy, and cosy.
“It needs more fight about the place. Players need to show a bit more about them.
“As soon as things went against us players went back in their shells’

Well said Ritchie if players showed as much passion and fight as you we might start winning.
