Manager Mick McCarthy has confirmed that the two trialists we had on show in the game against Southend did impress him.

Balint Bajner obviously opened the scoring for us in the game last night, and Anthony Wordsworth grabbed us the winner late on, and Kevin Bru also joined the action in the second half and the gaffer told the Official Site that he’d been pleased with them both since they came into the club.

‘Balint did well. He’s done well in every game. I’m really pleased with him. He’s only 23 and I think he’s got improvement in him. We’ll continue to monitor him, definitely. Kevin has done very well as well. I’ve been delighted with him, he’s a really good player.’

The gaffer was also questioned about the future of defender Freddy Veseli who has made a loan move to Port Vale and McCarthy confirmed his time at the club was over and he was hoping he’d get something sorted for himself.

‘That’s the end of his time with us. It was the end of his time at the end of last season if someone had taken him. I’d made him available. He’s gone to Port Vale and who knows, somebody else might want him from there and he might be able to progress. Let’s hope he can because he’s a lovely young fella.’
