Taylor Still Available

Paul Taylor’s first start for Ipswich since March hasn’t changed the fact that the winger still has no future at Portman Road.

Mick McCarthy gave the 26-year-old a start in the one-nil defeat to Crawley Town in the league cup on Tuesday and in his 80-minute outing he could have scored as he had chances, which McCarthy wasn’t happy with.

The boss told BBC Radio Suffolk: ‘I know what Tayls is about. He could have done better with his chances.

‘He opens the goal up and misses the target completely. He did brilliantly to get into that position and then you just want to hit the target.’

The £1.5m signing by Paul Jewell from Peterborough United two-years ago has scored just one goal in 25-appearances since with McCarthy confirming that he is ‘still available for loan or transfer.’

A loan exit, you would think, is the more likely thing to happen with the 26-year-old?
