Ahead of the loan signing of Connor Sammon earlier today, striker Paul Taylor moved on to Rotherham until January.

The deal is tentatively ‘subject to paperwork’ but I assume that will all go through swimmingly and manager Mick McCarthy had made no secret of the fact that he was available for transfer or loan again this season.

He did play in the Crawley game earlier this week, taking in 80 minutes but the gaffer was non to pleased with his finishing on that day and remains adamant that it’s best Taylor does find new employers.

Speaking to the Official Site after the announcement of Taylor’s loan, but ahead of confirmation that Sammon was coming in, McCarthy explained that at that stage he was looking to bring in a replacement for Taylor.

‘My stance hasn’t changed from last season and Tayls needs to go out and play games. If he plays regularly and gets some momentum going, then he may get back whatever it was he had before. Let’s hope he does, for him and for us. If he does then there might still be a home for him here, although I doubt it very much under me but we might be able to sell him on.’
