Billy Sharp will be allowed to leave Doncaster Rovers for £3 million, or more, next month with Southampton and Ipswich leading the chase to sign him.

Saints, managed by Sharp’s former boss Nigel Adkins, are in the box seat to secure Sharp’s services, although he may also be tempted by a move to the Premier League, according to those close to the player in South Yorkshire.
