Restoring Faith In Humanity

‘He’s not a bad egg really is he’ is something that my mother has often said over the years about people who have done something good, sometimes when it is thought they might not have.

I feel that this saying is particularly apt for footballers with them often, as we known, all tarred with the same brush as not being particularly caring towards others, having time for fans or showing much humanity.

Of course not all footballers are that way, far from it, with it probably a small minority that actually do fit the ‘not very nice’ mould in all reality!

Ipswich fullback Tyrone Mings if definitely among one of the more kind hearted footballers around though with him once again showing a great side to his personality and nature as he has replaced the shirt of a fan.

Formerly Mings wore shirt no.15 but upon the departure of Aaron Cresswell recently and the announcing of the new squad numbers for this season Mings was switched to no.3, which left one fan a little disappointed on social networking site Twitter.

Upon being included in a Tweet Mings made contract with this fan and has arranged a new shirt, with his name and no.3 on the back, being sent to him.

Previous gestures of kindness from Mings included the arranging of two match tickets for a fan who couldn’t afford to buy them and helping a charity at Christmas, the 21-year-old really is a modern day saint isn’t he and at such a young age too!

The likes of Mings, at least for me, restores some faith in humanity….
