Ipswich Town hit five without reply past Luton Town, in front of the sky camera’s on sunday, Alan Lee completing a hatrick.

The only change from the win at Southend last saturday saw Shane Supple replace Lewis Price in goal, the welsh international suffering from inflamed ribs.

Town dominated the first half but only went in one goal up, Sylvain Legwinski thunderously heading in a Matt Richards cross.

Town also hit the woodwork three times in a first half they dominated, once from an Alex Bruce header, then Legwinski’s low drive hit the post.

Billy Clarke was put through on Beresford, but could only shoot straight at the Luton keeper, and Clarke could only put the rebound against the bar.

Luton seemed to have pegged back Town only a minute into the second half, with Rowan Vine converting a Carlos Edwards cross.

However the goal was given, seemingly wrongly, offside. Athough later TV replays showed that Vine was infact Offside from the original ball, and became active later on in the move.

Luton failed to threaten again after this, and Town doubled there lead minutes later.

Alan Lee competed with Beresford, and managed to knock Richards’ cross down to Jaime Peters, who scored his first Town goal from close range.

The floodgates opened from here, as Alan Lee stole the show.

Lee converted Legwinski’s through ball by sweeping his shot accross Beresford for his first. His second came from another Matt Richards corner.

Danny Haynes header forced an acrobatic save from Beresford, but the rebound only fell to Lee, who stabbed home from six yards.

Lee completed the rout form the penalty spot.

Gary Roberts was sent crashing to the floor, again from a Richards assist, and Lee managed to fight off Alex Bruce, Matt Richards and Simon Walton, to send Beresford the wrong way, and complete his first hatrick for 5 years.

It could have been six as Roberts fired into the side netting, following some trickery outside the box.

Town Lineup: Supple, Wilnis, Harding, De Vos (Naylor 69), Bruce, Walton, Legwinski, Richards, Peters, Lee, Clarke. Unused: Drobný, Currie
