Quinn is a Town Man

Vital Ipswich can confirm that we have completed the permanent signing of Sheffield United midfielder Alan Quinn for a fee believed to be in the region of £400,000.

Quinn had already been signed by Ipswich in an emergency loan deal on Friday but behind the scenes, Ipswich and Sheff Utd agreed a fee and personal terms were a formality.

The Republic of Ireland international, although he has been on loan at Portman Road has yet to feature for the Town first team and will therefore make his debut next Tuesday as a Super Blue. The Tractor Boys have had problems with the left-midfield position this season and will surely be delighted to have tied up Quinn after he became available.

In other news, it is looking increasingly unlikely that Town will sign Plymouth midfielder David Norris, after having a bid formally rejected by the south coast club.
