Striker Frank Nouble is chuffed to bits after signing a new two-year deal with Town.

Nouble, who initially joined form Wolves in January, has knocked in two goals, and played in two of the Blues three games so far this season.

Now the has spoken about his optimism for the future at Portman Road.

He told the club website: ‘The club is looking good at the minute and it feels as if we are definitely heading in the right direction.

‘We finished last season well and you can feel that the optimism has carried into this year. Hopefully we can keep that going this season and try and be near to the top of the league.

‘It’s good for me personally as I feel wanted here. This time last year I was at Wolves and not really featuring but different managers have different ideas and I’m just thankful that the gaffer and TC (Terry Connor, assistant) see something in me and have made me part of their plans.

‘I love it here at Ipswich and I want to keep progressing with the club. I certainly see my long-term future here so I’m delighted to get the contract sorted out.’

It will be interesting to see if he gets to start soon with David McGoldrick so far not able to match his pre-season goal getting.
