The incident was alleged to have taken place last September, even though his former Plymouth teammate and close friend Luke McCormick was jailed for killing two young boys on the M6 after being under the influence of alcohol just a matter of months before.
In November, Norris celebrated a goal at Blackpool with a ‘handcuffs gesture’, a private message of support to McCormick. He was later fined £5,000 by the FA.
Ipswich Town released this statement: ‘This is a private matter involving one of our players and we are aware that it has been dealt with by the authorities in the appropriate manner.”
