Not many teams would be applauded off after losing at home on a run of seven losses in a row, but Ipswich fans did that after the Watford defeat.
That led goal-scorer Keith Andrews to acknowledge the unique Blues support: “They are a very fair set of fans, said Andrews.
‘I`ve known that as an opposing player through the years.’
‘They recognised how much it meant to us and how much we wanted to win.
‘We should have been booed off at Burnley but they don`t vent their frustration like other supporters.’
Andrews added that the players appreciated the backing.
‘We know they are fully behind us’, he said. ‘We take it on board and realise how fortunate we are.”
