Ipswich fan and Watford keeper Scott Loach has backed the Blues to emerge from these dark days.

Loach made some good saves to help the Hornets to victory over Town but had mixed feelings.

He said: ‘It`s not nice. I was a boyhood fan and I will be a fan for the rest of my life. It`s a fantastic club.
‘We were in a little dip ourselves earlier in the season and last season Portsmouth went about eight games without winning.
‘You look around here, at the club, the manager and the players, and they have enough experience. If they win three or four in a row they will be right back up there and people will soon forget this run.’

Loach admitted he felt Town deserved more than their seventh straight defeat.
“I thought they were unlucky. They deserved a draw but it was a great performance from us. We battled hard and we won ugly, which was something we didn`t do often enough last season. I don`t see any problems whatsoever for Ipswich.’

Loach, who was at Town academy before his family moved away, believes sacking the manager is not the answer.

He added: ‘The fans will be disappointed, of course, and the manager needs wins. But people were calling for our gaffer to go earlier in the season but we have turned it around and we are not that many points off the play-offs.
“This league is so tight. You can`t say that one team will walk away with it or that another team are certs for relegations.
‘I`m pretty sure that Ipswich will be fine.
‘You can go on runs and win eight or nine games in 10 but you can also lose eight or nine in 10. It has got to be one of the best leagues in the world.
‘Every week there is a coupon buster but it`s fantastic to play in. You can`t under-estimate anyone and I`m not saying Ipswich did that.’

Ipswich have now gone 14 games since beating Watford, with 11 defeats and three daws in that time.
Loach said: ‘They would have been aware of our form. But everyone in our dressing room is buzzing and we`re delighted to take all three points.”
