Jewell Slams Flops

Paul Jewell was livid with his players after they twice gave away the lead and ended up losing at Forest.

The Ipswich Town manager admitted he found losing, yet again, in the manner they did after Danny Collins had twice put Town in front, was difficult to stomach.

“Six minutes to go and we are winning and we end up losing it – it makes it hard to take,” groaned Jewell.
“What made it worse was that all three goals were our mistakes, the first by the goalkeeper, the second not picking up the man from the corner and the third was another individual error.”

Sadly it is not the first time Town have shipped sloppy goals and lose a lead and Jewell knows it can’t continue.

He said: “Those sort of mistakes cost you matches and we have got to get out of the habit.
“We were pretty evenly matched and it was like a cup tie but it was us who gave the goals away and you cannot switch off in this division and we got heavily punished.”
