Birstol City have comfirmed the signing of Ipswich’s Welsh international Gavin Williams on a two-year deal.
Despite previous reports suggesting Town would receive £300,000 for the Welshman, Bristol are believed to have paid just £100,000 – an undoubted steal for his player of his quality. However, other reports say the deal could rise to £350,000 on appearances.
Manager Jim Magilton said: “Gavin is a top player on his day but we didn’t see enough of those days.
“Gary Johnson knows him well [from their time at Yeovil together] and if Gavin gets a run in the team, then maybe Bristol will get the best out of him.
“Injuries were certainly a problem for him at Ipswich, but he’s a lively character and we all wish him well – except when he plays us!”
