Vital Ipswich understands that multi-award winning head groundsman Alan Ferguson could leave his role at Portman Road.
I believe that Ferguson has been offered a job at FIFA in the playing surface department, but I am unsure as to whether he will take up the role. The Scot was reportedly offered the groundsman’s job at Wembley before it reopened, only to turn it down.
He is a miracle worker with the pitch at Portman Road, rarely do we see the turf looking less than sublime. I hope he doesn’t go, he is certainly one of the best groundsmen in the country.
