Sir Alex Ferguson has savaged Roy Keane’s ability, or lack of it, as a manager.

In the former Manchester United’s boss’ autobiography he dismisses Keane’s spell as charge at Sunderland and Ipswich and said both tenure’s proved his limitations.

Ferguson said: ‘His two spells in management proved one thing: he needs money.’

And Ferguson’s pointed to Keane’s propensity to lash out at others when under pressure, as he did with reporters and players at Ipswich, most notably when they had lost to lowly Peterborough in the league Cup and after other defeats which left Town struggling.

Fergie added: ‘He has the most savage tongue you can imagine.’
