Various reports claim that Ipswich Town are showing interest in Austrian defender Andreas Dober and Aldershot Town’s Anthony Straker.

Dober, who has three international caps to his name for Austria, is currently a free agent having left Rapid Vienna this summer after spending most of the past 7 years with the Austrian Bundesliga club. The 25-year-old is reportedly being watched by Town as well as Championship rivals Watford and Nottingham Forest.

Grenadan left-back Straker (pictured) is also said to be in manager Paul Jewell’s sights. The 22-year-old, who is in the last year of his contract with Aldershot, has yet to agree a new deal with the League Two side and is also attracting interest from Coventry and Watford.

Ipswich have already made 12 new signings this summer, though boss Jewell could well be on the look-out for further loan targets as well as possibly drawing up a shopping list for January. Dober and Straker are the latest names to be mentioned in connection with Town, whilst the Blues have also been linked with young Preston North End striker Jamie Proctor and Sheffield United midfielder Stephen Quinn – brother of ex-Town player Alan – as well as his Blades team-mate Matt Lowton who was previously linked earlier in the summer. The Blues are understood to have had representatives attending games at Bramall Lane as well as at Crystal Palace and Milton Keynes Dons.
