Ipswich Town defender/midfielder Jaime Peters has joined League One Bournemouth on a one month loan deal.

Peters, who has made just one appearance for Ipswich in the Carling Cup this season, was amongst a number of players who had been expected to find first team football elsewhere during the ’emergency’ loan window. The 24-year-old, who is Town’s longest-serving current player having joined the club in 2005, has now signed for the Cherries until the end of October.

Peters is one of three players to have left Portman Road on loan in the past month, with Andy Drury joining Crawley Town last week whilst Jamie Griffiths signed for Plymouth Argyle on transfer deadline day. More departures look likely, though manager Paul Jewell has revealed that he has turned down a number of loan enquiries in order to maintain depth in his squad.

‘If the opportunity comes and it suits all parties then we will listen to it,’ Jewell told the Official Club Website. ‘There have been one or two enquiries from clubs that I’ve declined. We still want plenty of competition for places.’
