Arran Barrett has been backed to bounce back from the recent disappointment of missing out on a starting spot.

The back-up keeper thought he would have good chance of playing against Reading after David Stockdale injured his shoulder last Monday.

But Paul Jewell moved to sign Richard Wright who had been raining with the club, leaving Lee-Barrett to sit on the bench once more.

Wright insisted Lee-Barrett would be fine and said his chance would come.

“It is never a nice scenario,” said the stopper who helped win promotion with the Blues in 2000. “I`m very close with Arran. We work hard together and it is tough. But the character he is, he will keep working hard.

“Things change quickly in football so he knows he has to be ready because you never know what will happen. I`m sure he will be fine.”

The former Arsenal, West Ham and Everton keeper, who worked with Town`s current goalkeeping coach at Southampton admitted he was surprised at getting a game.
He said: “If you had said to me on Monday I would be playing Saturday I would not have thought that.

“I need to look at one or two things but it was great to have the opportunity to play.
“The manager named the team on Friday I was fortunate to get the nod as we have a lot of players wanting to play.”

Stockdale is expected to return to the starting line-up at Burnley on Tuesday night.
