Mick McCarthy has changed his mind about playing a pre-season friendly at St Mirren, and in the process probably blown any chance of signing much sought after midfielder Barry McGowan.
Buddies boss Danny Lennon told the Paisley Express: “I spoke to Ipswich manager Mick McCarthy and he informed me that they can`t come up for the game.
“It`s nothing to do with our schedule, Ipswich had to cancel it.”
The game was pencilled in for July but Tow are likely to be in Ireland then.
