Barron looking to secure new deal

After a run in the first team recently, young Ipswich left back Scott Barron is now looking to secure his future with the Suffolk side

His emergance in a role Joe Royle was looking to fill with a new signing possibly a loan, has made the Town manager re-think the situation, and turn his attention to signing re-inforcements in other areas

Scott was quoted on the official site as saying:

We have got other players who can play at left-back – Matt Richards, Fabian and Sito have all played there as well this season – but hopefully I can do enough to keep my place in the side.

‘It is an important time for me with my contract up in the summer but if I am playing every week then that will put me in a strong position to earn myself a new deal come the end of the season.’

I myself never rated Scott highly from watching him in the reserves, don’t get me wrong he was solid but never standout. But he has come into the first team and has not let himsself or the team down, and with the young players Joe has been releasing recently it would be nice to see Joe is looking to the future and gives Scott the contract he has earned over the past few weeks
