Olympic boxer Anthony Ogogo is being lined up to fight at Portman Road.

Blues director Ian Milne revealed the possibility of bringing in the former amateur world champion middleweight as part of a series of ways to make more money for manager Mick McCarthy to spend in the transfer market.

Milne said: ‘We’re looking at different ways of selling tickets and retail products, changes to concourse catering, improving hospitality, all those sorts of things.

‘We are looking at holding some more concerts at Portman Road, I know Olympic boxer Anthony Ogogo has spoken about fighting here. We need to sweat the assets.

‘All of this is with a view to providing the manager with the most competitive transfer budget we can offer him. We want every penny raised and saved to go on the field.’

The Suffolk scrapper won bronze at the London Olympics before turning pro earlier this year and has previously scooped gold at Junior Olympics and World Championships.

Although he was a Norwich player as a schoolboy, Ogogo has a soft spot for the Blues and has been to Portman Road to watch games.

Good chance he would sell out a summer bout with a decent undercard.
