Keith Andrews is not convinced Ipswich are serious in their attempts to sign him in January.

The on-loan midfielder expects to return to Blackburn in the new year, with Nottingham Forest at Portman Road due to be his last game.

From there he will probably sign for another Premier League outfit, with Wolves, Everton, Bolton Wigan and Aston Villa, all in the frame.

Although Blues owner Marcus Evans met with Andrews’ agent, understood to be Will Salthouse, on Monday, the player and his representatives are not convinced by Town’s efforts.

“I haven`t been given an impression by the club that they want to do anything,” Andrews told Radio Suffolk. “A good few weeks ago I told my agent to touch base with the club out of courtesy because he was speaking to other clubs on my behalf, which he`s fully in his right to do.
“I just said, because I was here and enjoying it, to get in touch with Ipswich too.

“From our point of view they haven`t really given us the impression that they want to do anything though. What can I say? That`s where we are at the minute.”

And despite Jewell publicly saying Town would do everything they could to keep the team’s top scorer, nine in 19 games, Andrews has had no conversation with the manager about staying.

He added: ‘I`ve not spoken to Paul about it at all.

“Maybe they are planning to do something in the next few weeks, but nobody has spoken about it to me on a personal note at all.
‘There have been very few discussions between me, my agent and the senior people at the club.”

The 31-year-old Irish international has already made it clear his future is not at Ewood Park, especially under current beleagured manager Steve Kean.

That leaves the way open for another club to move in with Andrews’ agent in talks with a few interested parties.

Andrews said: “There`s certainly interest from other clubs. It`s a little bit hazy at the moment because Blackburn are in a little bit of disarray at the moment.’
