Always Change A Losing Team?

Last week I made the suggestion that you should never change a winning team, and quite rightly, manager Kieron McKenna did not shuffle his pack. The only change was made from the bench, where Bersant Celina replaced Kayden Jackson at Bolton and came on for the last 20 minutes, but all to no avail.

Tomorrow at Portman Road, Ipswich are hoping for a crowd in excess of 20,000, and Bersant Celina can expect to start this time, at the possible expense of Sone Aluko, who was substituted for Conor Chaplin in Lancashire. Although Aluko has undoubted talent, he often tries to do too much and is far less of a team player than Celina in my view.

I don’t think our new Northern Irish boss will make too many other changes, but what we do know is that Scott Fraser is out with a minor knee injury. The last time he started a match was against Barrow away when he was substituted at halftime so it should not influence matters greatly.

The only other possible change would be that of Matt Penney, who was awful against the Wanderers and was replaced with Kane-Vincent Young in the last quarter. I am not at all convinced by Penney.  A fit Hayden Coulson is a far better prospect, but injuries have seriously stifled his progress sadly so far.

Upfront, we can expect to see James Norwood and Macauley Bonne again, but this might not continue for much longer if Norwood allows his contumacious nature to get the better of him again. I think Town will be victorious tomorrow and I predict a 3-1 win for the Blues. If we have any lingering aspirations of a play-off place, then we should expect nothing less. In my view, only a win will do.
