Ipswich Town have terminated the loan deal of West Bromwich Albion defender Gianni Zuiverloon and allowed him to make an early return to The Hawthorns, the club has confirmed.

Zuiverloon, who only joined Ipswich in November, was originally set to remain at Portman Road until 22 January 2011, but with the Baggies currently suffering from injury problems, the 23-year-old defender has returned to his parent club despite Town being desperately short on defenders themselves.

The end of Zuiverloon’s loan comes less than two weeks after the club decided to terminate the loan deal for Andros Townsend, who went back to Tottenham Hotspur despite having originally agreed a deal until the end of the season. It looks therefore as though Keane may be having a Christmas clearout with the January transfer window just around the corner, and with reports that the Town boss will be allowed to make new signings, it could be an interesting New Year for Ipswich.

How do you feel about Zuiverloon going back to West Brom? Are you worried about the players that we are losing, or do you think Keane has some new signings up his sleeve? Have your say by joining Vital Ipswich:
