Town let a two goal half time lead slip as Preston came from behind to grab a 3-2 victory at Portman Road.

Boss Magilton made several changes following Saturdays crushing at home to West Brom, Clarke,Walton,Currie and Naylor were all dropped to make way for Wilnis,Peters,Richards and Macken.

Town started brightly, with Nash having to save sharply
from Lee, but soon after, Town took the lead.

Mark Noble was bundled to the floor inside the box by Matt Hill. Jon Macken stepped up and sent Carlo Nash the wrong way, and opened his Blues account in the process. Memories of Saturday’s home thunping at the hands of WBA were forgotten after this start.

Nash was busy as he beat out a Matt Richards shot, and then Alexander had to hack away, after Nash dropped the ball at Richards feet.

Town doubled their lead on 36 minutes. Alan Lee rose well to connect with a Matt Richards cross, and fire his header past Nash.

Town should have gone in three up, but Richards fired his shot well wide after neat play from Lee and Macken.

The start of the second half saw Preston register their first shot on target. Paul Mckenna broke into the box, but Price saved smartly.

Preston did find the net on 53. Confusion between Bruce and Wilnis saw the dutchmans header back intercepted bu Nugent, who finished expertly.

Three minutes later and they were level. Graham Alexanders free kick was headed in by Liam Chilvers from 12 yards.

Prestons confidence grew, and 10 minutes later, the comback was complete, Simon Whaley cut inside after a Nugent run, and fired past Price from 25 yards.

De Vos rocketed a header over from a corner, as Town desparetly searched for their equaliser.

Magilton introduced Clarke, and new signing Gary Roberts, who had only joined the club that morning.

Roberts made an early and impressive impact, as he whipped in a cross that was just plucked out of the air by Nash.

Town huffed and puffed in the closing minutes, but to no aveil, as Preston completed an impressive comback, to stretch their unbeaten run to 11 games.
