Town Bring In Sven Reject

Ian McParland has been added to the Ipswich coaching staff, just a month after he was relieved of his managerial duties by Notts County.

The 48-year-old was a victim of the Magpies new found fortune, probably for not being a big enough name to manage the League Two club as the mysterious owners want instant success. McParland had guided the team to fifth in the table before the decision to sack him, probably by Sven Goran-Eriksson, was made. Sven’s mate Hans Backe took over and is yet to win.

McParland was a coach at Nottingham Forest for a decade before taking charge at Meadow Lane.

I think it’s a very good appointment by Keano and hopefully can have a similar positive effect on the team as John Gorman did when he was brought in by Jim Magilton last season.
