Town Aiming For Top Six!

Another win at home to Rotherham this weekend and Town have every chance of finding themselves in the top six and into the play-off places! We obviously don`t want to tempt fate by getting too excited about their prospects but on paper at least, this is a game that the blues really ought to be winning.

The good news is that both Paul Taylor and Anthony Wordsworth are ineligible to play, after an agreement was struck when they went on loan to The Millers. The bad news is that we can expect Scott Loach, Paul Green and perhaps Frazer Richardson to play some part in proceedings, as they are former Town players who will be keen to prove that losing them was not such a clever idea after all!

I fully expect Scott Loach to play a blinder and I have a sneaking feeling the Paul Green might get onto the score sheet via a set piece or something and as we all know from previous experiences, former players have a knack of excelling against old employers so I trust that Mick McCarthy will have forewarned his players about the risks of complacency and what might occur if a player has been shunned or scorned!

I am going for a 3-1 win to Town and I am hopeful that now Conor Sammon has broken his duck, he can try and emulate our other recognized strikers and increase his goal tally. Personally, I am not convinced he is any better than Frank Noble but of course it could be argued that he cannot be any worse so I am open to persuasion there. He certainly gives his all of that I am quite sure.

It was nice to see Darren Ambrose get some game time against Wigan the other night although I agree with most readers that he seems woefully short of match fitness and of course the same can be said for Stephen Hunt he did not get a kick.

What do you think will happen on Saturday tractor boys and girls? Will Mick McCarthy stick with the same formation and play three up front, or will he change a winning team and revert perhaps to 4-4-2?

I would love to hear from you!
