Too Little But Not Too Late For Town!

Before I get too exited about the prospects of some home games to come, it is important to put things into perspective.

Even if the blues were to win there next two home matches and perhaps even take points off Wolves, Nottingham Forest and Blackburn, the best we can probably hope for now is an extended season.

Five games and 15 points to play for and if only we could win our next two home games then that would give us the confidence I believe to finish the season on a high.

Remember that it is the club that usually sneaks into those play-off places at the last hurdle that often does the best because they have the momentum going for them and after Town there is no one else in with a chance of possible promotion so in this respect, we are in prime position to spring a surprise!

Being under the radar for the moment may not be such a bad thing but we must see every game from now on in as a cup final and who knows where this might take us?

In a couple of days we face our first acid test and I think this game against Blackpool could have been made so much easier had they not been relegated. I won’t delve deeper into this because we all know the risks of playing a team with absolutely nothing to lose.

Beating Blackpool would be a start and then if we could overcome Cardiff at home on the Tuesday evening at Portman Road, then we would find the stamina and belief I believe to get more points quickly.

Wolves away is perhaps our toughest challenge when it comes to our remaining fixtures because they are just as determined to get into the play-off’s as we are but if we were to draw at their place then that is a point that really would be worth having!

Nottingham Forest at home in front of a big crowd and we might just be able to grab a narrow victory and I see us beating Blackburn Rovers at home on the last day of the current season.

Realistically then, I see us getting a maximum of 11 points and we would probably need at least 10 to be in the frame.

One thing is certain though and that is the season is far from over but if we lose to Blackpool at home on Saturday it will be!
