Lee Tomlin admitted he was amazed at the way he was allowed to score the opener against Ipswich.

He told the Posh website: ‘I was delighted to score although I was astonished how much space I found myself in when I picked up Joe Newell`s pass.

“I felt then that we would score more goals, but it quickly became a very scrappy game. It wasn`t very enjoyable to play in at times because the weather was so bad, but we stuck at it and it might turn out to be a very good point.’

Tomlin conceded the penalty which led to he equaliser but felt Lee Martin dived.

He said: ‘I don`t think it was a penalty. I dangled my leg out, but then pulled it away and their player just made sure he went over. It was very soft and I don`t think it should have been given.

“It was very disappointing as this was a game we looked like winning.’
