Ipswich Town are represented in the latest Football League team of the week that has been selected after this week’s action.

The performance by Jordan Spence in the three nil victory over Preston North End at the weekend at Portman Road was enough to earn them a place in the side alongside the other most impressive performers in the Football League pyramid.

I think we’ll already know ourselves, and not just based on the latest performance, why Spence was selected as part of the team but explaining the choice – the FL blurb read.

‘Spence made a significant contribution to Ipswich Town`s 3-0 victory over Preston North End, as the defender weighed in with two assists. After Martyn Waghorn had given the Tractors Boys a first-half advantage, Spence then set up David McGoldrick and Bersant Celina respectively, lifting the hosts up to seventh in the standings.’

It’s always good to see the club represented in this way, and well played to Spence for his recognition, but the most important thing about the weekend was of course the win.

Full Team:

Darren Randolph (Middlesbrough), Zeki Fryers (Barnsley), Yoann Barbet (Brentford), Ben Turner (Burton Albion), Jordan Spence (Ipswich Town), Callum O’Dowda (Bristol City), Jacob Butterfield (Sheffield Wednesday), Ruben Neves (Wolverhampton Wanderers), Gary Madine (Bolton Wanderers), Leon Clarke (Sheffield United), Tyler Walker (Nottingham Forest).
