Ipswich Town have sold out their allocation of 3,000 for the FA Cup 3rd Round match away to Chelsea on Sunday 9 January 2011.

There has been some controversy over the number of away tickets available for the match at Stamford Bridge, with Town supposedly not taking the maximum possible allocation of 6,000, much to the disgruntlement of many fans. This comes as something of a surprise after the club was able to sell out 6,000 tickets for the last visit to Chelsea in the 4th Round of the competition back in January 2009. Whether or not the club has any plans (or means) to request the further 3,000 however is unclear as yet, with no official announcement on the Club Website up to now.

Tickets are still currently on sale for the Arsenal Carling Cup semi-final tie at Portman Road, with sales widely expected to reach the 30,000 milestone for the first time since 2003. Only Gold Card holders, season-ticket holders, members or those who attended the quarter-final against West Bromwich Albion are eligible to buy tickets at present, with general sale not commencing until Thursday 30th December.

Meanwhile tickets for the away leg at the Emirates Stadium will go on sale under the usual priority system from 4th January 2011, with those entitled to claim reserved tickets able to do so until New Years Eve.

Full ticket details for all Ipswich Town matches as well as Ticket Office Christmas opening hours are available on the Tickets page of the Club’s Official Website.
