Ipswich boss Jim Magilton said that he was pleased with Ipswich’s performance after seeing his side beat Preston 2-1 at Portman Road to record their eighth successive home win.

‘I’m delighted with the players again and felt that we dominated much of the game. The three points were very important and it is something ot build on. Our all-round play was good despite a lot of travelling this week. Overall we were pretty solid,’ the Ipswich boss told the official site.

Magilton was also pleased with his two goalscorers, Alan Lee and Tommy Miller: ‘It was a terrific header from Alan and that will do him the world of good. That’s two goals in two games for him and all strikers thrive on scoring goals so it will give his confidence a boost.

‘Tommy took his goal well. Pablo set him up and I always fancied Tommy to score when the ball fell to him. It’s his first of the season. I expect him to score goals for us and I’m sure he will push from here.’
