Star midfielder Owen Garvan has still not given manager Jim Magilton an answer on signing a new deal at Portman Road.

The youngster’s deal is up next summer, and was offered a new three-year deal at the end of last season to stave off interest from Premiership clubs that include Everton and Blackburn.

Garvan was an integral part of the midfield last season and Town fans will be desperate for the star to sign-on having seen him mature from the Joe Royle days at Portman Road.

There has even been some talk of Garvan becoming the clubs new captain at the tender age of 20. Although unlikely, it is not written in stone that he won’t be appointed the new skipper.

  • To be honest its his choice, but his on his holidays and to be honest his entitled to some time off with out having to think about work

  • Owen… just sign the contract, and don’t let your career waste away at a team like Wigan, Stoke or Hull (no offence to those teams… infact I quite like Wigan.. when they play the big four)!

  • he will sign no worries about that, he loves ipswich and realises we have great chance of going up,mature enough to realise no need to go elsewhere.
